Purpose of snapchat?
In the world of social media we all are lonely sometime or most of time. I never felt lonely while growing up but when moved to big city like Bangalore somewhere loneliness will come as you will lose friends because they will move to another city, another country or you both stay corners of city.
Social media made sure that we are connected to them. We want to know what’s happing in their life, what they are doing.
I am of generations who saw orkut,facebook, instagram, snapchat.
Orkut mostly used to connect friends and people internationally. I don’t know why but we felt we should have one international friend that time to boast about it in our friend circle. I do remember one of our friend who used to say that he spoke to someone in US and that was great thing to do that time.
Then came facebook which helped to find old friend who lost touch by searching their name. It was purely to connect people. We used facebook groups, profile pictures of our favourite actor.
So Facebook is show our life to world, instagram is to your known once, and snapchat to your closed once but in same age of max 3-6 years gap.
Why do people use snapchat? It shares photo, what we are doing currently on daily basis. we cannot do this on instagram as this is how we designed our brain and we really want to know what our friends are doing. As that’s how we will release more dopamine daily basis.
One shocking trend after snapchat boom, all the restaurant,tourism increased as people want to show what they are eating, where they are roaming, where are the shopping.

If I am brand I will make sure that I will be there in most people snaps. So I can build trust over time.

Note : Why I do post on Instagram? I am storing good memories of that day, month and year so that I can look them after few years. It’s purely for me.
